Children Ministry

Children’s Ministry runs during the Sunday 9.45am service every week except during the Summer Break. However, children stay in church during the monthly Worship for All services and parade services.
Children and leaders go to the Upper Room after the welcome and first prayer and explore the gospel reading that is being read in church.
Sessions are planned carefully, starting with investigating the key themes of the reading from the children’s current experiences, then active involvement with the gospel, through games and activities which will help link the two, endeavouring to build an understanding of what the Bible is saying about choices we can make whilst living our lives today. So, lots of games, drama, drama techniques, sharing experiences, discussion, puzzles, art, craft, story-telling, dance, memory verse – the noisier the better! No advance booing necessary, all welcome.
The children also continue to keep in touch with the children sponsored through the Fair Trade stall by writing letters and drawings
Each year, the children present the Crib Service – an impromptu service in which the children present the Nativity through readings, poems and carols. Children from the congregation of the service to come and join the action!
